Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is a system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints. Swedish massage promotes general relaxation, increases circulation of blood and lymph, and relieves muscle tension. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management.
